GWR: I’m still a record holder, both in spirit and history – Hilda Baci spills
I’m still a record holder, both in spirit and history. Nigerian chef Hilda Baci says she’s still a Guinness World Record holder, even though she lost her title for the “longest cooking marathon (individual)” to Irish chef Alan Fisher.
She talked about this when her fans asked why she removed “Guinness World Record holder” from her social media profile. Hilda Baci explained that she updated her profile because her predecessor, Chef Lata, recognized Alan Fisher as the new record holder and updated her own profile accordingly.
She also praised Alan Fisher’s hard work, as he cooked for an incredible 119 hours and 57 minutes, beating her record by more than 24 hours. Hilda Baci said, “I’ve adjusted my profile too. Achieving such a record is a big accomplishment, and I have a lot of respect for the effort it took for Alan to reach this level. Sportsmanship means acknowledging progress, whether the title is in my profile or not.
