UCL: Guardiola explains why Haaland might not get the Ballon d’Or prize
Guardiola explains why Haaland might not get the Ballon d’Or prize. Manchester City’s manager, Pep Guardiola, said that Erling Haaland can only win the Ballon d’Or if he keeps scoring goals and helping his team win.
Guardiola spoke after Haaland scored two goals in their Champions League win against Young Boys on Tuesday night.
Haaland, who is 23 years old, has scored 15 goals in 15 games this season.
This year, Haaland came second to Lionel Messi in the Ballon d’Or race. When asked if Haaland could win the award next year, Guardiola said, “If he and his teammates can win more trophies, then he’ll have a chance to win it. If they don’t, he won’t win it.”
