
Due to infractions of traffic laws, the Lagos State Taskforce seized at least 253 commercial motorbikes, often known as “okadas,” on the Oshodi-Apapa Expressway and the Mile-2 axis of the state on Thursda
Chief Superintendent of Police, or CSP, Shola Jejeloye, the Chairman of the Agency, oversaw the large-scale exercise that occurred along the Oshodi-Apapa Expressway. He revealed that the purpose of these operations was to serve as a warning to okada operators who were refusing to comply.
According to Jejeloye, the Apapa-Oshodi Expressway serves as a launching pad for okada operators who operate on the expressway in violation of Lagos State traffic legislation. Apapa Local Government Area is among the councils where okada operations are strictly prohibited.
since of their enormous number and tendency to congregate along the Expressway, the chairman referred to the okada operators’ acts as vile since they cause unnecessary jams and nuisances on the route.The number of motorcycles that have been confiscated here gives you an idea of what this place looks like during rush hour.
