Ooni welcomes Soun, who supports unifying Yoruba people in Nigeria

In a meeting with the recently appointed Soun of Ogbomoso, Oba Ghandi Olaoye, Orumogege III, on Wednesday, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, spoke for a single Nigeria and a united Yoruba country

“I recall that when we first met in the United States approximately six years ago, you were a clergyman, and everyone around you attested to your moral rectitude and fair disposition.

The Ooni stated, “These are the qualities that have given me confidence that your ascent to the Soun of Ogbomoso will be advantageous to the ancient city.”

Oba Ogunwusi promoted national unification, especially among the Yoruba people.

He praised the nation’s traditional leaders for their efforts to keep the nation united for the benefit of all.

Oba Olaoye had earlier in his speech referred to the Ooni as a focal point for all royal fathers, especially those of Yoruba descent.
“I have always respected the Ooni’s behavior even before I took this throne.”

Ours is in Ogbomoso, and your efforts to preserve the esteemed Yoruba history inspire us to take further action in that area. As Oba Olaye put it
